Main theme:-
If you are looking for some South Indian cuisine, Ramashray is the place where your taste buds can be satisfied.
Location:-
This south Indian eatery is just located opposite Matunga Station(East) on Central line of Mumbai local.
Ambience:-
It has an effect of steel & wodden seating & no air conditioner. Sometimes due to close proximity with other tables it can get congested. You will also see people sharing tables here.
Service:-
Very quick, also they help you in selecting dishes according to your taste .
Things we tried were podi idli, cheese neer dosa, vada rasam & pineapple sheera.
Vada Rasam:- A single medu vada can be seen floating in a bowl of watery rasam. Do not misinterpret its watery consistency of rasam because as soon as u take a bite, there is an explosion of flavours in your mouth. Trust me its tasty …!!
Podi idli:- Served with butter, sambhar, coconut chutney & red chutney on it. A perfect south indian combo of idli, butter & Indian spices which melts in your mouth as soon as you take a bite of it. Quantity wise one idli is served in a plate.
Neer cheese dosa:- As the name suggest this dosa is very thin & soft due to its high water content, A must try for Mumbaikar who are bored of regular dosas. Their menu doesn’t mention neer (cheese)dosa , but on request cheese can be added, which makes this dosa even more tasty with sambhar, coconut chutney & sweet chutney made of grated coconut & jaggery.
Pineapple sheera:- A beautiful combination of pineapple, ghee, suji & sugar. A perfect dessert after your heavy meal, for your sweet tooth. Highly recommended…!!
Overall I must say if you want to soothe your taste buds with South Indian Cuisine, this is the place which will not leave you disappointed.
