Location: “The Bayview” is located at Churchgate right in front of the Marine drive which is also known as queen’s necklace at night. It is a few minutes walk from Churchgate Station. For directions you can ask for Hotel Marine Plaza as this restaurant is on its first floor.
About Place: “The Bayview” is a nautical themed restaurant perfectly located with an amazing view of the Marine drive and Arabian Sea. The restaurant is designed to resemble the interiors of a cruise and serves food 24 hours. The restaurant is known for its amazing buffet during lunch as well as dinner. They do serve food across the globe.
Our Experience: Enjoying the view of the bay and the touch of cold breeze on your face is our way to relax while being in South Mumbai from childhood. We have grown up walking by the bay and when we saw restaurants by the bay, we always wished to experience this serene view with loved one while having food. Last weekend we decided to visit this nautical themed restaurant and enjoy their buffet for lunch along with the view.
The ambience of this restaurant is luxurious resembling a cruise. The view of Arabian Sea from the large window panes and a music being played in background along with the delicious food is all you want to have while you are with your loved one’s.
The buffet is priced at Rs 1750/- for adults & Rs 850/+ for Kids. The buffet consists of both veg and non veg options which consists of a large salad and cheese counter, soup and bread section, main course section, live counter and dessert sections. The menu keeps on changing for both lunch & dinner. We ordered for Blue lagoon and strawberry with watermelon in mocktails. Both the drinks were refreshing and good to taste.
The range of salads along with sushi is to die for. You can customise your salad with your choice of ingredients, dressing and seasonings. The soup that we tasted was quite okay to taste.
Moving to main course, they had Indian Cuisine and Asian cuisine on that day. We tried their Indian Cuisine which consists of Shahi Paneer, Aloo Methi sabji, Chole, Dal Dhansak, Pulav along with Naan. The naan will served hot on your table. The Indian food was delicious and scrumptious.
Now for all the Jain foodies, they served a Salad, Paneer tikka in appetizer & Paneer butter Masala n daal in Mains. This salad tasted better than the normal one. The daal was really really delicious. Can visit this place just to enjoy daal rice along with the view. We though missed the Italian cuisine on the buffet Menu.
Last but not the least the desserts. The range of desserts is amazing over here. Right from carrot cake, strawberry pastry, mix fruit pastry, brownies, fruits to Gajar ka halwa; they had almost everything. We loved the range of desserts and they tasted amazing. The desserts will make your day as it had just perfect amount of sweetness.
